Il Lago d'Orta è un lago prealpino del Piemonte collocato tra le province di Novara e del Verbano-Cusio-Ossola. Nel medioevo il lago era noto come lago di San Giulio e solo a partire dal XVII secolo cominciò ad affermarsi il nome attuale di lago d'Orta, dalla principale località, Orta San Giulio.
