Materia organica è tutto ciò che è parte di un organismo, cioè di un essere vivente, o che da questo è prodotto, che si tratti di un microrganismo, di una pianta o di un animale (quindi tronco e rami, foglie e fiori, frutti e semi nelle piante, corpo ed escrementi negli animali).
Cosa significa umido organico?
Nell'organico (o umido) finiscono tutti i rifiuti alimentari, principalmente scarti e avanzi che siano essi cotti o crudi. Anche i cibi scaduti e avariati possono esser considerati rifiuti organici, però l'importante è che vengano chiaramente separati e gettati via senza il loro involucro.
