Il valutare è l'attività con cui le persone (singoli o gruppi; comunità o istituzioni) esprimono un giudizio riguardo ad un fatto rilevante e significativo. La valutazione è strettamente collegata alle procedure e metodi e strumenti usati che possono condizionare l' attendibilità del giudizio medesimo.
