What type of HRT is Femoston 2 10?
Femoston 1/10 and Femoston 2/10, are continuous sequential hormone replacement therapies. For initiation and continuation of treatment of postmenopausal symptoms, the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration (see also section 4.4) should be used.
What's the difference between Femoston and Femoston Conti?
Femoston® is indicated for estrogen deficiency symptoms in postmenopausal women at least 6 months since last menses and Femoston®-conti is indicated for estrogen deficiency symptoms in postmenopausal women at least 12 months since last menses.
What time of day should I take Femoston?
It does not matter if you take this medicine before or after food. Take Femoston at about the same time each day. Taking it at the same time each day will have the best effect.
What are the doses of Femoston Conti?
The dosage is one tablet per day for a 28 day cycle. Femoston-conti 0.5 mg/2.5 mg should be taken continuously without a break between packs. For initiation and continuation of treatment of postmenopausal symptoms, the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration (see also section 4.4) should be used.
Will I have a period on Femoston?
Important information about Femoston. ️ This medicine will usually cause a menstrual bleed towards the end of the 28 day cycle. You may also experience spotting or breakthrough bleeding during the first few months of treatment. Missing a dose may increase the chance of this.

- Skin reactions such as rash and itching.
- Menstrual bleeding or spotting.
- Fatigue.

- Relief of menopausal symptoms was achieved during the first few weeks of treatment. - Regular withdrawal bleeding with Femoston 1/10 occurred in approximately 75-80% of women with a mean duration of 5 days. Withdrawal bleeding usually started on the day of the last pill of the progestogen phase.

How common is amenorrhoea with Femoston 2/10?
- - With Femoston 2/10, approximately 90% of women had regular withdrawal bleeding. The start day and duration of bleeding, and the number of women with intermittent bleeding was the same as with Femoston 1/10, amenorrhoea occurred in 7-11% of the women for months 10 to 12 of treatment.

What is Femoston used to treat?
- It contains the hormones estradiol and dydrogesterone. This medicine helps to relieve the discomfort many women feel during and after the menopause. It also helps to prevent thinning of the bones (osteoporosis), which can cause fractures. Femoston is used by women who still have a uterus (womb).
What is the difference between Sequi and Conti dose of Femoston?
- Femoston comes in 2 types- sequi and conti. The sequi type which gives a monthly bleed is available in 1mg and 2mgs strengths. The conti type comes in 1mg dose. Conti is for women who are 12 months past their final natural period- so post meno - and who don't want a monthly bleed . Presumably you are on sequi which is fine.
